Make a donation todayPrevention Education really works
Young kids and even teenagers often lack a vocabulary or understanding to recognize that sexual abuse, assault, or other crimes are being committed against them.
- Abuse Prevention Education works by simply teaching kids what abuse is, how it’s wrong, and the often subtle signs of abuse.
- When sessions are held, an increase in informed reports of abuse increases to school staff and Indiana DCS.
- Young people who participate in Prevention Education are more likely to make better, more informed reports to authorities, leading to successful outcomes.
- Indiana law requires all schools teach abuse prevention, but does not provide funds for schools to cover costs of materials or staff time.
